WHO IS ANITA FLYNN?
I’m sure the other parents at the airport thought we were neglecting our children when we first arrived in the East Coast over 24 years ago! As our little family stepped off the plane, the 30 degree weather seemed like Spring to us, having just left the 40 below temps in Minnesota hours before! None of us wore jackets, and the kids were whooping and hollering! That was our introduction to our new life here in Connecticut. Ever since we have loved living in Fairfield County, and raising our family here! We brought the honest, hardworking integrity of the Midwestern people, and married it to the sophistication and savvy of the East Coast.
Our children attended public and private schools in Fairfield County, and colleges as far away as Chicago. (Back to the roots!) The nest is empty now, with our oldest daughter married, and having given us a two year old angel of a grand daughter to love, our oldest son married to a lovely girl from Estonia, our second oldest daughter living and working in the San Francisco area, and our youngest son working on a Masters in Vienna, Austria.
It has been my observation that not very many Real Estate Agents come to the industry straight out of college. I has been so with me. In my mid twenties I decided I was in need of a CAREER (not just a job). After thorough assessment of my interests and talents, I decided on Fashion Merchandising, and aced a nine month crash course in a Minneapolis school. They placed me in a fine ladies ready-to-wear shop in the premier mall in Minneapolis at the time (before Mall of America!) and the rest is history…over the years I have parlayed these talents into many forms of self employment.   The most successful  was a Fashion and Color Consulting Business I ran in the Midwest before anyone there even knew what Fashion Consulting was. I truly enjoyed the full-service aspect of helping my clients attain their desired looks and functioning wardrobe. Needless to say, we had lots of fun along the way. That is certainly one of my priorities in anything I do for my clients. Real Estate is a serious business, but there are ways to enjoy the process, and together, my clients and I find as many as we are able! The other priority I have always had is to make sure my clients are learning along the way, so they are always well informed.
